While I totally agree with you that the stakes are higher in competitive I have become a much better player by playing competitive vs cs go matchmaking noobs.

But since then i rarely play public. Most reason why I didn't play CS: You need to learn every aspect of this game; sound whoring, aiming, economy, what guns to buy, how to travel a map, map knowledge and a shit ton of other things.

I'm maybe worst fps player ever and wondering is this match making really working for bad players like me? That's why I was thinking that if match making would eventually put me against players who are at my skill cs go matchmaking noobs. Sure, as i started playing i only played on Public Servers to get a feel for the game.

Most of my friends think Dota rated match making doesn't work as it should. This also happens in Dota 2 but your post made it sound like you didn't think that happened.
Want to add to the discussion? If you go into a casual match then its putting you in a random server with other random people, there is no skill consideration. My experience in casual so far is that there is a somewhat narrow range of skill, with the odd highly skilled player every now and then.

Be prepared to dislike it for the first handful of hours though. That was for about hours of playtime i think. Reddit is filled with interest based communities, offering something for everyone.
